Great to hear from your adventures and live those amazing moments. I would have loved to cheer you up with a nice beer I had never heard of (sign behind you!), go on and paddle!

Pretty amazing video of you besting the rapids! I knew you were a master of your craft but when you stood up in the canoe to get a better look at what was ahead that confirmed it

Salut, J-C!

It was fun to meet up with you and a huge relief to see you arrive in one piece at Flagpole Plaza Sunday morning! Your canoe-paddling skills never cease to impress, not to mention how nimbly you hauled your canoe out of the water and up the steps at the landing. That swift passage through the Sauk Rapids - you looked as if you'd done it ten times before!

And your float through the lock was also fascinating. What fun to have the mechanism operated just for you! It was astonishing to see just how tiny your canoe is, compared to the river and the many structures that you've passed by and through.

I wish you continued safe paddling and more interesting sights - we shall all look forward to the journey to St. Louis!

Ciao!

Maria

Am enjoying following your journey. Suggest a backwater paddle from landing at St Paul Park marker 829.8 on the River Map. This is a lovely quiet stretch, abundant birdlife and flowers. This will lead to another lovely route down Grey Cloud Channel, past Settlers Island and finally to the tip of Grey Cloud where the beautiful American Lotus flowers have just started blooming. I did this paddle today. Great way to avoid barge traffic and we saw one fisherman along the route.
