Hello friends!
It’s been a busy couple of days, but also very exciting as I have put the finishing touches on the book, and I have some exciting news…
Available on Amazon
The book is available NOW on Amazon.com. Feel free to grab yourself a copy. They make great Father’s Day gifts. 😎
Book Release Party!
Still, the fastest way to get a physical copy in your hand is by going to the book release party! I’ll be there with copies for purchase at $25 per book, and will happily sign any copies. The event is this Sunday, May 21 from 4pm to 7pm at Hidden Falls Regional Park. Feel free to drop by anytime, but there will be a storytelling session at 5pm.
Here is the official info:
What: The Canoe Rambler blogs become a book! Over the course of 97 days, Stephen “Jean-Canot” Walker paddled 2,340 miles, the length of the Mississippi River. From Lake Itasca to the Gulf of Mexico, all in a 16ft canoe. The book is a collection of 97 essays—one for each day—highlighting the history, nature, people, weather, wildlife, towboats, industry, and more seen on this journey.
When: Sunday May 21st, 4pm-7pm.
With storytelling and a Q & A session at 5pm.
Where: Picnic Shelters @ Hidden Falls Regional Park, St. Paul

A Small Favor to Ask
I admit, I am terrible at marketing. I like to write, not to sell.
To that end, if you know a bookshop, outdoor store, visitor center, or anywhere else that may be interested in carrying copies of my book, please let me know! Maybe you live in a town on the Mississippi River where tourists come through and are curious about the river.
Please reach out to me with your ideas of places that would be a good fit for the Canoe Rambler book! You can email me at canoerambler@substack.com. Thank you!
Signed Copies
Some people have asked about signed copies—I’d like to offer them, and I am still trying to figure them out exactly. But if you are interested in signed copies, and want to get on the wait list, please let me know by filling out this form. (They will be more expensive due to additional shipping costs.)
With how hectic things have been recently, signed copies likely won’t be delivered until July.
Once again, I truly appreciate the support from everyone, whether you buy a copy or are just a fan of the blog!
May the River be with you,
J-C
