Hello friends, It’s now been one month since I landed at the Gulf of Mexico on the last day of my journey down the Mississippi River. I have thought about that River every day since then, and the magnificent journey I had this summer exploring its entire length.
Hey, JC: my daughter, Samantha, and I completed our S2S in the summer of 2021 and THOROUGHLY enjoyed following your journey this year. Congratulations, sir! Did you get a chance to sign Dale Sanders' "Paddler's Wall" in Memphis. I think you both were on the river at the same time, but for sure, you'll be welcome to stop by to see him and add your name; it IS the MSR's equivalent of the Hall of Fame!
Have a favor to ask -- Sammi and I are writing a book about our trip and I wondered if I could have your permission to use the photos you included in this photo montage from Day 35 (the 15-barge tow locking through" and Day 77 (How I look to a tow pilot). If anything comes of the book, we'd, of course, give you full attribution - along with the dates of your trip. What do you think?
